Resumen

AMORIM MOREIRA, C.M. et al. Gestión y ambiente de trabajo en la visión del equipo de enfermería de una maternidad, Fortaleza/Ceara, Brasil. Enferm. glob. [online]. 2011, vol.10, n.21. ISSN 1695-6141.

A descriptive, quantitative and exploratoy study aimed at describing the administration model and work atmosphere of a nursing team at the Obstetrics Clinic of a State maternity hospital in Fortaleza/CE/Brazil, 2007. The study was performed by administering a questionnaire to professionals about administration, work structure, and staff relations. The findings reveal an employee of high age and long service, staff relations were valued as were communication with management, good performance, suitable model of administration, good state of health, although some illnesses are present, there is capacitation planning. However, on being asked about improvements to the service, responses pointed to insufficient rest time, stressful pace of work, below suitable atmosphere, little participation in courses and little motivation. In conclusion, despite the findings the workers perform their duties well. There is a suggestion to set up working groups to assess the reasons for the dissatisfactions revealed by the study. It would probably be more viable to establish a truly participative administration, where parties involved have the opportunity to find some common denominator for the solution of the existing problems.
