Resumen

GARCIA MARCO, María Isabel; LOPEZ IBORT, María Nieves  y  VICENTE EDO, María José. In regard to the therapeutic relationship: Lac of time?. Index Enferm [online]. 2004, vol.13, n.47, pp.44-48. ISSN 1699-5988.

During the whole evolution of the nursing discipline, the nurse-patient relationship seems to be a constant issue in the literature and in the scientific publications. There are important nursing theorists that define nursing as a helping relationship, that accompany to the patient to live healthy experiences. However, in the day by day nursing practice, the relationship is limited and also it gets aggravated in the hospital due to the patient's rupture with their normal environment. The time variable in the actual health system, where issues such as technology, expenditures, costs and treatment efficacy are primarily matter, time became a ' gold value'. In this context and situation, the nurse's behavior tends to reproduce the verbal and non-verbal stereotypes. The objective of this study was to find out the nursing knowledge and training they have about the nurse-patient relationship. The methodology used was an exhaustive review of Spanish publications about nurse's education in this particular area. The conclusion was that their knowledge about nurse-patient relationship is a pending subject. It was also found, that a proper training for students and post graduated nurses are needed and demanded.
