Pain is a subjective sensation of distress and suffering due to nocioceptive stimulus after tissue damage or illness. It is probably the most importantsensation through which we are aware of the presence of a disease or of an external injury. The main objective of this study was to comparethe level of pain in patients after punction of theirarteriovenous fistula with needles at different temperature. The number of patients was 25. We studied anumber of variables including: age, sex, and vascular access. There were no differences amongthese variables. However, when the temperatureof the needles was compared we observed statistically significant differences in the level of pain.
