No statistically significant differences (p>0.05), were found for age, years of training and position for soccer players. Were the most important stressing agents were conflicts/pressure and fitness /injury. Sleep quality was the less significant factor for recovery. Conclusion. This study shows and appropriate stress-recovery profile in this sample. It also shows the importance of the identification of stress-recovery profile, in order to prevent the destructive effects of focusing exclusively on training loads. Further studies with Costa Rican athletes in this research area are needed.
