Resumen
BUENO GONZALEZ, Antonio y NOZAL, Raúl Rodríguez. The pharmaceutical industry in Granada during the Franco regime (1936-1975). Ars Pharm [online]. 2017, vol.58, n.1, pp.13-20. Epub 12-Dic-2022. ISSN 2340-9894. https://dx.doi.org/10.30827/ars.v58i1.5916.
Objetive:
We study the pharmaceutical laboratories that were working in the province of Granada during the Franco regime (1936-1975), both those created before the civil war, and those established during this armed conflict or after the end of the war.
Methods:
The sources used for this study come from the documentation kept in the Archivo General de la Administración of Alcalá de Henares (Sindicato Vertical de Industrias Químicas y Ministerio de Gobernación) and in the Archivo de la Agencia Espaftola del Medicamento y Productos Sanitarios. We have also used printed primary sources detailed throughout this work.
Results and conclusions:
The province of Granada had fifteen pharmaceutical laboratories during the Franco period (1936-1975). Nine of these falls into the category of annex, one is an independent establishment, while the remaining five are collective laboratories. The smaller ones from an industrial and economic point of view (the annexes and the independent one), were developed during the years before the civil war, while those of a collective nature arose during the war or in the early years of the Franco regime. Eleven of these pharmacies were located in the city of Granada, while the other four were distributed in the metropolitan area (Maracena and Las Gabias) and other rural areas (Baza and Torvizcón).
