Resumen

ASMAT-INOSTROSA, Marita del Pilar  y  DE LA TORRE-ROBLES, José Manuel. Series of persistent Covid cases. Rev Asoc Esp Espec Med Trab [online]. 2023, vol.32, n.2, pp.141-146.  Epub 30-Oct-2023. ISSN 3020-1160.

Introduction:

Much evidence is lacking on the etiopathogenesis of prolonged COVID, but what does seem clear is that it brings together a heterogeneous group of predominantly autoimmune diseases.

Objectives:

Analyze the symptoms of patients with prolonged COVID-19, relating risk factors and comorbidities according to the severity and development of autoimmune diseases.

Material and Methods:

A case series study was carried out, collecting data related to sociodemographic and epidemiological variables and related to the clinical course of the cases through a clinical telephone interview and review of their clinical history.

Results:

4 cases were obtained, they had a mean age of 47.5 years, 75% of the cases were female, none of the cases had a history of cardiovascular factors or autoimmune diseases.

Conclusions:

This study shows that most of the patients described have an altered autoimmune profile that could be related to SARS-CoV-2 infection.
