The Psychiatric involuntary internment has been regulated with significant gaps through history in Spain. Currently there are significant deficits in this area and there are inappropriate practices also. This article discusses these issues and, especially, it analyzes the recent Constitutional Court Judgment 141/2012, July 2, about the urgent psychiatric admission. This Judgment tries about the guarantees of this admission modality, especially on deadlines of the judicial resolution, motivation of this resolution and the patient's procedural rights. On this matter the judgment is pioneer.
