PALOMO RANDO, J.L. y RAMOS MEDINA, V.. The role of the Forensic Physician at the Death Scene Investigation: A proposal for a document. (Guidelines for Death Scene Investigation). Cuad. med. forense [online]. 2004, n.36, pp.41-57. ISSN 1988-611X.
The role of the forensic physician at the death scene investigation has changed in Spain during the last year. When attending a crime scene, forensic physicians must write a report for the examining court and the Forensic Pathology Service. This report should provide enough information about the deceaseds identification, time of death, medical history and circumstances surrounding the death. The authors enumerate the examinations and evidence that must be collected in cases of sudden-unexpected deaths and in the main types of violent deaths. Finally, the equipment used in the death scene investigation is reviewed and an official form for the examining court and the Forensic Pathology Service is proposed.
