RICO, A. et al. Sudden death due to thoracic aorta dissection associated with aortic coarctation. Cuad. med. forense [online]. 2008, n.51, pp.55-60. ISSN 1988-611X.
Aortic dissection is a catastrophic illness characterized by blood going right through and separating the media layers, that causes a new canal full of blood within the aortic wall (dissecting intramural haematoma) which uses to tear and cause massive haemorrhage. We present the case of a 22-year-old man, with antecedents of hypertensión without treatment, who dies suddenly as a consequence of a rupture-dissection of the thoracic aorta asociated with aortic coarctation and bicuspid valve, both diagnosed at the autopsy.
Palabras clave : sudden death; aortic dissection; coarctation; bicuspid valve.
