CESEDEN is the main joint military centre of the Spanish Armed Forces. It is in charge of teaching advanced national defence studies courses, as well as carrying out research, promotion, and dissemination of defence culture.

For the achievement of its functions and, especially, to teach studies leading to postgraduate degrees, CESEDEN collaborates through agreements with public universities, university defence centres and other public and private corporations.
