Resumen
MARTIN-BAEZA, Ana María; OVIEDO-ESTEBAN, Myriam y JIMENEZ-BLANCO, Sonia. A patient with Q fever in the rural setting. Rev Clin Med Fam [online]. 2023, vol.16, n.1, pp.55-57. Epub 17-Abr-2023. ISSN 2386-8201. https://dx.doi.org/10.55783/rcmf.160109.
Q fever is a little-known globally distributed zoonosis, with an incidence of three cases per 100.000 inhabitants/year.
The main source of contagion is sheep, cattle and goats by inhalation of aerosols from viscera or contaminated materials: manure, urine, wool or clothing.
Early diagnosis is essential for an effective intervention. This avoids chronic complications. The role of the primary care provider is key to attaining this goal.
