Phenomenological study describes the cultural practices of care of pregnant otomíes living in colonial New Reality, the Municipality Querétaro. It was found that during pregnancy otomi women living in urban areas keep coming care practices of socialization in their culture, which is based on the transmission of traditional gender roles in the assessment of the beliefs and experiences of other women. For this reason, this study argues the need to know care practices that breed in Otomi culture to give better care to pregnant women in this ethnic group, respecting traditional practices but supporting them with advances in medical science and nursing, that is, it is Otomi offer women in this life experience culturally congruent care.
