SANJURJO CASTELAO, Gabriel  e  PAZ RANZ, Saray De. About Pinel, Zaragoza's Hospital and Occupational Therapy. Rev. Asoc. Esp. Neuropsiq. [online]. 2013, vol.33, n.117, pp.81-94. ISSN 2340-2733.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S0211-57352013000100006.

Introduction: There is a tendency in Spanish authors to point out that the base of Pinel's "moral treatment" lays in Nuestra Señora de Gracia's Royal and General Hospital at Zaragoza. This notion has been further expanded by Occupational Therapy books. According to this idea, Zaragoza's Hospital work, being known by Pinel, leads him to assume the assistance given on it, to "release" the mads from their chains and also to assume as own the therapeutic use of occupation. Objetive: Analyze the argumental lines of the Zaragoza's Hospital influence and the therapeutic use of the occupation known in Pinel's work. Development. Known data of the french doctor's work referenced to the Zaragoza's Hospital and the documents of interest related with the zaragozan institution and the medical concepts are analyzed. A review of the confirmed influences on the Pinelian's "moral treatment" born is made. Conclusions: Overviewed authors doesn't give evidence about the Zaragoza's Hospital influence, their data is inaccurate or clearly overrated. On the other hand the use of occupation as part of the Pinel's "moral treatment" is quite close to nowadays conception of the Occupational Therapy.
