Concept of occupational disease in the Spanish Social Security system. Characterization of the current list of occupational diseases and proposed reform. Underreporting of occupational diseases. Inefficiency of the current rating system and notification of occupational diseases. Conclusions: - Essential revision of Royal Decree 1299/2006, in order to replace the current closed list system for a mixed system that includes, by the catalog of occupational diseases, the additional possibility, for not appearing in it, of nexus test or professional etiology of the disease contracted. - Implement the Spanish box diseases with the list of occupational diseases that March 25, 2010 reviewed and approved the ILO, including mental and behavioral disorders are included. - It is urgent that public authorities develop the content on prevention of occupational hazards. - The specialized physicians primary care training and better information about the patient's work would help improve the qualification of occupational diseases, preventing them from being treated as genuine common occupational diseases, and permit the adoption of preventive measures, field this the prevention and in particular the health surveillance must be strengthened because it is shown that investment in prevention translates into savings rather than a cost. - Should be improved interconnection between information systems and management of the National Institute for Safety and Health at Work, Public Health Services, the Institutes of Occupational Safety and Health of the Autonomous Communities, Mutuals and Social Security.
