Knowledge on the topic has accumulated since the 19th Century to the present time. This has helped prevent its self destructive nature. This article fills the research gap in this area, particularly within the Armed Forces, thanks both to the reference search and to the research that has been done concerning data gathered from committed and attempted suicides among Armed Forces conscripts over the 1990- 2001 period.
