Aims: Analysis of the indicators of impact of 34 journals of Iberoamerican Scientific Area (ISA). Method: bibliographical study retrospective descriptive. Journals source: 34 magazines source of eight countries of the ISA. Variables and indicators: Three main impact indicators were calculated: Immediate repercussion (RIC), Immediacy Index, and Estimated Immediate Repercussion. Results: 1353 articles were analyzed. There were 19803 references, of which 9466 (47,80%) went to periodic publications. The average value of the RIC was of 0,4708. The journal with greater impact was Index de Enfermería, with 1,4634. The Brazilian journal of nursing with greater repercussion was Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem (RIC=0,7031). Evidentia had the greater Immediacy Index (0,4627) and only five Anglo-Saxon journals had impact in ISA, of which three are including in the index of the JCR. Conclusions: There is an increase in the consumption of Literature of nursing within the ISA and a greater immediacy than in series of previous data. The repercussion of the Literature of English area nursing is minor who in previous series, being replaced its consumption by an increase in self-consumption, without this means, in general terms, a greater isolation of the ISA. This conduct is compatible with the maturity in the management of the knowledge within the ISA, and indicates an increase of its use within its borders.
