FIN, Gracielle; DE JESUS, Josiane Aparecida; BENETTI, Magnus  e  NODARI JUNIOR, Rudy José. The practice of physical activity in women with breast cancer: association between motivational factors and dermatoglyphic characteristics. CPD [online]. 2022, vol.22, n.1, pp.176-189.  Epub 19-Set-2022. ISSN 1989-5879.  https://dx.doi.org/10.6018/cpd.444431.

The aim was to investigate the association of constructs from the theory of self-determination and dermatoglyphic characteristics on the behaviour to the practice of physical activity in women with breast cancer. 104 women answered questions about the practice of physical activity, perception of competence, autonomy to the practice of physical activity, satisfaction with life, and dermatoglyphics. In the group that practiced physical activity before diagnosis and continued during treatment, the perception of competence, autonomous regulation, life satisfaction and level of physical activity were higher. To dermatoglyphics, the thumb and index finger of the right hand, the distribution of whorls in S pattern was higher in women with controlled regulation for physical activity, more studies are necessary to verify how these variables behave in the scope of breast cancer. The perception of competence and the autonomous regulation are important for the maintenance of the practice of physical activity during the treatment.
