This study aimed to describe the health and working conditions of teachers Nurses training institutions linked to nursing assistants, allowing visibility to the socio-demographic characteristics of this population, their health and work conditions within and outside work. Involving 28 teachers training institutions Nursing assistants in the city of Tunja, during April to July 2010. To gather the information used was a survey consisting of three parts: demographic characterization, individual health conditions and working conditions. For the analysis of information, the methodology of the Institute Sindical of Work, Environment and Health (ISTAS 21) of Spain and Excel 2003, allowing to determine the most favourable situations (SMF), the intermediate (SI) and worst (SMD) of these teachers, who were organized into three groups: those who work only in theory, only practice or both. Most of the teachers surveyed were women, 20 to 40 years, and no children. The most favourable health and work was found in teachers who work in the two cycles and has a contract with all benefits and comprehensive social security wing affiliation. The worst in those who work only in practice or in theory, those who reported more symptoms of physical disorders, emotional and behavioural, but also less recognized labor rights.
