Abstract
Congenital diaphragmatic hernia is a defect of the diaphragm that allows the passage of abdominal organs to the chest. Respiratory distress in the neonatal period is the most common presenting symptom, but in some cases its presentation may be later and with more diverse symptoms. We report a case of a 6-month-old infant who attended the emergency room due to irritability and persistent crying for one hour. Chest radiography and ultrasound confirmed the diagnosis of diaphragmatic hernia.
