Introduction
Population aging is configured as a global phenomenon and health technologies constitute an important tool aimed at this population.
The objective was to identify literature on the use of light technologies, light-hard and hard in elderly care.
Methodology
This is a literature integrative review study conducted in the databases Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE - CAPES Portal), Literature Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (Lilacs) and Scientific Electronic Library Online (Scielo), through the descriptors: elderly technology, health services and care and their counterparts in English. Was included articles in full, original and published in January 2010 to October 2015, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, conducted with persons 60 years or older.
Results
The study addressed worked mainly with hard technologies of care to the elderly, from the use of software and motion sensors. In the light-hard technologies we observed the validation of educational booklets and in light technologies were explored the themes of communication and empowerment of the elderly in health services.
Conclusion
It was concluded that the implementation and the development of technologies geared to the needs of the elderly it is necessary to establish suitable and innovative conditions for satisfactory care of this population segment.
