BARTOLOME SANCHEZ, Alejandra et al. Acute limb ischemia due to endograft migration. Angiología [online]. 2021, vol.73, n.4, pp.202-205. Epub 20-Sep-2021. ISSN 1695-2987. https://dx.doi.org/10.20960/angiologia.00287.
Introduction:
endoluminal repair of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) was compared to open surgery in recently published trials. Mostly EVAR complications that lead to aneurysm ruptures such as migration, endovascular leaks and structural graft failure can be treated with adjunctive endovascular procedures and rarely a conversion to open surgery is required.
Case report:
we present a case which a late open surgical conversion was performed due to migration and impact over aortic bifurcation through endograft which began as arterial limb ischemia.
Discussion:
the conversion to open surgery after EVAR is a last resort that is taken upon after the failure of an endovascular repair and it entails various technical difficulties.
