CREGO DIAZ, Antonio. The social origins of consciousness: a theoretical framework for Mental Health. Rev. Asoc. Esp. Neuropsiq. [online]. 2003, n.88, pp.73-90. ISSN 2340-2733.
We expose that consciousness is asocial event in essence. Contributions from four sociopsychological frameworks -vygotskian psychology, Symbolic Interactionism, Social Constructionism and Bronfenbrenner's socioecological model- are revised and its relevance for Mental Health is suggested. We claim for people working in Mental Health being aware of their important social role.
