The objetive is to study the prevalence of geriatric depression in Primary Care and the detection of depressive disorders and the factors that affect it, through a cross study and description of t Initially the MMSE was administered, excluding 17 patients who he target population (262 patients > age 64) in a group of patients from the Levante Sur SAS Health Center in Cordoba. Initially the MMSE was administered, excluding 17 patients who showed cognitive disorders (score <15) that could interfere with the posterior evaluation. The remaining 245 patients were given Yesavage's screening scale of geriatric depression GDS-15, the CAGE alcoholism questionaire in Primary Care, and a survey of sociodemographic and health variables. The prevalence of geriatric depression found was 24,49%, with an O.R of 1,61 in women over men.
