Abstract

GUINEA ROCA, Ricardo. Psychotherapy in the process of recovery of persons with severe mental disorders. Rev. Asoc. Esp. Neuropsiq. [online]. 2017, vol.37, n.131, pp.207-226. ISSN 2340-2733.

Psychotherapy has received relatively little attention in the overall treatment plan of psychosis. However, there is a strong scientific tradition that has described its possibilities and has established a repertoire of technical rules for its use. As in other clinical fields, there are different theoretical and technical perspectives for psychotherapy in psychosis. Beyond divergences, there is a number of common factors from an integrative perspective (therapeutic alliance, psychotherapeutic attitude, empathic listening, symptomatic management, etc.) that allow to consider it as a justified technical resource for the treatment of people with psychotic symptoms, and a factor that may effectively contribute to their recovery.

Keywords : psychotherapy; psychosis; subjectivity; recovery; integrative perspective.
