Intravesical prophiylaxis against recurrence of urinary bladder carcinomas using mitomycin C (MMC)has proved to be and effective treatment with few side effects. Previously only two cases of lung toxicity after instillation of MMC into the urinary bladder has been described. We report a 65-year-old man in whom lung sarcoidosis occurred after intravesical administration of MMC. This association has not been reported to date. The clinical picture and the pathogenesis of this lung disease are discussed.
