Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency of clinical pathologies of tongue and to estimate the possible association with systemic conditions in adult patients at Corporación Universitaria Rafael Núñez. Material and Method: Cross sectional study was conducted on 116 patients, according to the characteristics of the sample, were recruited adult patients, that accepted participation in the study and those who sign the consent form, they were excluded patients with psychic problems or mental alterations that impede the processing of the interrogation in the medical history. Results: 116 adults participating in the study had an average age of 46.3 years (SD=12,7), About the systemic condition the most frequent was the hypertension with a 25%, gastritis 25%; After the clinical examination of the tongue disease, the most frequent one was the coated tongue with a 24,44%. The results of the bivariate analysis to establish the possible association between the tongue disease and systemic conditions showed statistical significance (χ2=4.31; p=0.038) (p<0,005), OR= 2.44 OR CI 95% (0.947-6.23). Conclusion: Possible association between tongue disease and systemic conditions can exist.
