Abstract

ASENSIO SANCHEZ, VM; PEGALAJAR MAESO, M; RODRIGUEZ BRAVO, I  and  CARRASCO, E. Cotton-wool spots as the first manifestation of giant cell arteriris: two cases. Arch Soc Esp Oftalmol [online]. 2004, vol.79, n.9, pp.449-452. ISSN 0365-6691.

Purpose/Method: The present study shows two patients with giant cell arteritis. Both patients showed single isolated cotton-wool spots as the only clinical manifestation. Results/Conclusion: Single cotton-wool spots can be an early ophthalmoscopic finding in giant cell arteritis and can precede an important visual loss.
