This paper deals with the clinical and radiological findings in a case of floating thumb, whose treatment began in the childhood. The general approach to the upper limb and particularly hand and thumb congenital malformations is outlined, as well as their classification and assessment of the cosmetic and functional aspects. Finally the different surgical approaches to this pathology are mentioned and the results obtained in the present case are shown.
