Abstract
VAZQUEZ, G; AUDOIN, F. and PELLON, A.. Microtraumas in the ethiology of late seroma in augmentative mammoplasty. Cir. plást. iberolatinoam. [online]. 2011, vol.37, n.3, pp.215-222. ISSN 1989-2055. https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/S0376-78922011000300002.
Late seromas occur as a complication of breast implant surgery, usually after 3 months but may become evident until years later. Currently, there is scarce information about this disorder, especially with regard to the etiology. In this paper, we present our experience with this pathological entity, presenting microtrauma of the periprothesic capsule of the affected area as a possible ethiology. We describe some clinical cases, their treatment and final outcome.
