The legal framework for health surveillance of workers tries to safeguard the physical and moral integrity of the worker in order to avoid the developing of a work which is incompatible with their health or which might deteriorate their mental or physical impairments. Therefore, medical examinations are configured as essential instruments of protection of the workers and as an employer liability limitation in cases where it is mandatory their implementation. From a labor standpoint, the revelation of a health worker incompatible with his job involves the introduction of technical and organizational changes, which may alter the conditions under which his work had been developed or, even, it could have as consequence, the termination of the employment relationship.
