Abstract
RODRIGUEZ GALLEGO, María Begoña et al. Estudio de los expedientes de determinación de contingencia en una dirección provincial del I.N.S.S.. Med. segur. trab. [online]. 2014, vol.60, suppl.1, pp.267-271. ISSN 1989-7790.
A descriptive study of 248 cases of contingency determination, made in the Provincial Directorate of INSS between December 2012 and September 2013, was performed. We studied nine variables in these expedients: age, sex, responsible entity of the benefit payment, alleged cause of sick leave, final contingency, public/private company, type of social security of the worker, profession, and concordance between Medical Evaluator proposal and the final resolution. Our conclusions were: the exertions at work were the main cause alleged as the reason for sick leave (43.5% ); Mutual was liable to pay in most records (90.3%); over half of the cases (57.7%) were considered as non occupational contingency; and the discrepancy between the conclusion of the Medical Inspector in the medical report and the decision of the Disability Assessment Team was exceptional, only in 1.61% of records.
