Abstract
VICENTE-PARDO, José Manuel and LOPEZ-GUILLEN-GARCIA, Araceli. The incapacity an indicator of occupational health with high territorial variability. Med. segur. trab. [online]. 2020, vol.66, n.260, pp.171-193. Epub Oct 04, 2021. ISSN 1989-7790. https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/s0465-546x2020000300004.
Introduction:
Disability is an indicator of occupational health, being exponent of its loss. The temporary and permanent labor incapacity derives from multiple variables that cause it and modulate it, but among all of them the significant variability of presentation by territories (autonomous communities) poses a map of occupational health for its causal analysis.
Conclusions:
The territorial differentiation of work disability is consolidated over time, as the study we present shows, being able to affirm that there are more or less healthy areas, because the indicator of work incapacity indicates it; being able to affirm that, in terms of occupational health, the postal code matters more than the genetic code. And beyond other considerations, economic and management in terms of spending reflect a different occupational health by geographical area, inequalities that need to be addressed from the preventive, occupational, health and social perspective.
