Research using experimental animal models is a tool that enables knowledge to be acquired before it is applied in human beings. Clinical guidelines are needed when starting experimental research work on animals. The purpose of this paper is to present an illustrative guide to the dissection of the most important facial structures in pigs, so that it can serve as a basis for future experimental works.
