CASTILLO FRANCO, Armando  y  MALDE CONDE, Mª Adela. Religious iconography in the rooms of hospitalization. Index Enferm [online]. 2006, vol.15, n.55, pp.18-21. ISSN 1699-5988.

Objective: To find out the significance and we also can conclude what it means for the patient, during his hospitalization, the presence of religious print impressions on the room. Methodology: On have been done a qualitative study of ethnographic type on Cardiology` s unity for three months, through observation and interviews which on done for the patients what stayed on and showed religious print impression during this time. Results: All patients are religious believers of more or less rate. Most of them, place in front or prefer Jesus Christ instead of the Blessed Virgin and Saints to indicate their preferences or devotions .Although, if we look at the religious print impressions that the patients have, we are able to conclude that these religious print impressions are of Blessed Virgin in their differents advocations principaly. The religious print impressions more showed are: Virgen de las Angustias, Corazón de Jesús, Virgen del Carmen y Fray Leopoldo. All the people that were interviewed think of the protection when they have the religious print impressions, or also they think of curing when have these religious print impressions. And as far as the cause of its improvement or lightening, all agree in which science, in this case the medicine, it has to do much in it, but that the divinity also participates, in a high degree, in obtaining that improvement. Discussion: Such as we are conscientious of the human capacity for resolving health‘s necessity , the presence of the religious print impressions on hospitable environment, it could interpret such as an act of provocation or rebelliousness towards the institution, then here only is took stock as important the Biology, isn‘t took stock his religious expectation. The person who works in the hospital refuses with his behaviour all possibility of illness’s interiorization that isn´t since point of view biological. Curing of the health isn‘t only perceive for the action of scientific medicine, also it is due to the supernatural direct action, through Blessed Virgin, saints or Martyrs
