Recently in health care the concept of Sensitivity Ethics (SE) has been used to describe the first component of decision making in nursing care. The SE contributes to the ability to focus on the patient´s needs through analysis of the characteristics of the patient, the stage and time, as well as the inherent characteristics of health professional that include cognitive-perceptual. Psychosocial and moral development. The aim of the present study was to describe the SE of nurses of a public hospital and the differences with respect to their sociodemographic characteristics. Design was descriptive in a populations of 219 nurses randomly selected. The results showed significant differences for the moral strength dimension by sex and years of work experience. There was also significant difference for the total SE index by labor category, labor area and shift. It can be concluded that there are differences in the SE according ti the sociodemographic characteristics of the nurses. The study of SE contributes to the future recognition of this key concept in the improvement of health care.
