Depression is a mood disorder that manifests through psychological and somatic symptoms. This condition has a major repercussion on both the physical and mental level of the patient and on their social life as well as it also affects their familiar environment alike. This account speaks of the experience of a depression from its onset being an adolescent until the present moment. He makes a trip down memory lane in which he explains how the sexist education exerted by his parents caused him a depression. As a result, the relationship with his nuclear family became altered as well as the stages of growth he went through, which he managed to overcome with great effort, seeking the support of people outside the family. The way he had to face the disease and, as a consequence, the positive learning that entailed, caused him to grow as an individual, thereby making him the person he is today.
