Abstract
CEREZO FRANCO, Carmen María and GALIANA GOMEZ DE CADIZ, Mª José. Family care provided by deaf women. Index Enferm [online]. 2018, vol.27, n.3, pp.133-137. Epub Nov 04, 2019. ISSN 1699-5988.
The objective of the study was to know the characteristics of the care of deaf women in the family and to identify the context, strategies, difficulties and limitations of family care. It is a descriptive and exploratory study. It was held in July 2015. The sample consisted of 5 deaf women living in Murcia. Snowball sampling was used and data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The study concludes that deaf women feel capable to perform care with satisfaction, but they find various socio-structural barriers to access to information sources, since the best channel for information is the visual, attenuating it with the help of new Technologies and above all with the use of the sign language interpreter.
