Objective:
Analyse the relation between self-directed learning and academic motivation in nursing students.
Methods:
Quantitative, correlational, cross-sectional study. 134 students participated (U). The Self-Directed Learning Scale (SDLR) of Fisher, Tague& King, the Academic Motivation Scale (AMS) and the socio-demographic questionnaire were used,to characterize the sample. The SPSS software is used to analyze the data. 0.19.
Results:
There was a statistically significant association between self-directed learning with: intrinsic motivation with stimulation of the experience towards achievement and knowledge, and with extrinsic motivation of identified regulation; and the demotivation had an inversely proportional association.
Conclusions:
The most self-determined students, that is, those with the highest intrinsic motivations, had the highest level of autonomy.
