NEIRA, F.  and  ORTEGA, J. L.. Clinical Practice Guidelines for the management of the pain: A clinical practice tool. Rev. Soc. Esp. Dolor [online]. 2008, vol.15, n.6, pp.399-413. ISSN 1134-8046.

Objective. The objective has been the elaboration of an instrument to provide the search of the tools necessary to obtain the best available scientific evidence, in the clinical decisions that must be take. The Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) are directives elaborated systematically to attend the clinical and the patients in the decisión making on the suitable sanitary attention for specific clinical problems. Also it is possible to be considered that they are tools available to facilítate the decisión making, considering the preferences and the valúes of the patients, the valúes and the experience of clinical and the availability of resources. Material and methods. A systematic search in Internet, has been made, using the term "pain", limiting the search to the years 2005-2008, in different groups of elaboration and storage of CPG: Health Services Technology Assessment Texts (HSTAT), New Zealand Guidelines Group (NZGG), Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN), The National for Institute Clinical Excellence works of the National Health (NICE), National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC), CMA Infobase and Primary Care Clinical Practice Guidelines (UCSF-USA). Results. The number of selected GPC has been 47, grouped in the subjects of: chronic pain (fibromyalgia syndrome pain, neuropathic pain, osteoarthritis pain, complex regional pain syndrome, low back pain, opioid in the chronic non-cancer pain, headache, interventional techniques in the management of chronic spinal pain), acute pain management (urgencies) and pain in children; 27 of them have rating scheme for the strength of the evidence and 20 have rating scheme for the strength of the recommendations, 15 have cost analysis, 17 have implementation programme developed, 34 can be view full-text Guideline free form through Internet, 46 have the view major recommendations in Web and 15 have clinical algorithms. Conclusions. The centres of elaboration and storage of CPG allow the access to a great number of CPG, many of them available to view full-text of free form. Thus Internet is constituted like a fast source to obtain information and access to numerous CPG. The selecction of the GPC that allows the resolution of the clinical problem that appears to him at every moment, concern to the clinical. In this work we have tried to facilitate the location of CPG on the specific subject of pain, being indicated some characteristics of the different CPG that are enumerated, that helps to the doctor to select the better CPG for their requirements.
