Abstract

MARTIN IGLESIAS, Raúl. Treatment of a venous ulcer with multilayer compression therapy and alveolar gelling technology. Gerokomos [online]. 2018, vol.29, n.3, pp.153-154. ISSN 1134-928X.

A 49 years old male presented a venous ulcer on the internal malleolus of the right lower extremity of more than 2 years of evolution. In the clinical case, the treatment guidelines used, the evolution of the injury and the recommended prevention measures once healed are exposed.

Because venous ulcers have a high prevalence between 70-80% of the total wounds in the lower extremities, which entails a high health expenditure, this is because we believe that the anklebrachial index is important, as well as the correct use of topical treatments.

Keywords : venous ulcer; alveolar gelling technology; multilayer compressive therapy.
