GARCIA-RUIZ, María Piedad; GALLEGO-RUIZ, Marta y MONTIVEROS-MARMOL, Josefa. Healing of lesions due to acroangiodermatitis in the context of scleroderma and Sjögren’s syndrome: clinical case. Gerokomos [online]. 2024, vol.35, n.2, pp.131-135. Epub 26-Jul-2024. ISSN 1134-928X. https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/s1134-928x2024000200012.
Introduction:
Acroangiodermatitis is an underdiagnosed pathology, secondary to a chronic vascular disorder such as venous hypertension. Added to the presence of autoimmune diseases, with systemic and chronic involvement such as Sjögren’s syndrome or scleroderma, which have repercussions on the skin tissue, in the event of an injury, it may present more difficulties to achieve healing.
Objectives:
Show the efficacy in the preparation of the bed for the early use of the use of negative pressure therapy. Methodology: Comprehensive assessment, realization of a personalized care plan and its evolution until complete healing.
Results:
The beneficial effect of the use of negative pressure therapy together with the etiological treatment, compression bandage, is shown.
Conclusions:
A personalized care plan will improve the patient’s quality of life, their adherence to treatment and our success in addressing the injury.
