Abstract

LORENTE-RODRIGUEZ, Miguel et al. Use of a carnosine and hyaluronic acid tulle dressing in mechanical trauma injuries. Gerokomos [online]. 2024, vol.35, n.3, pp.211-214.  Epub Mar 19, 2025. ISSN 1134-928X.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/s1134-928x2024000300013.

Objectives:

To observe and analyse the epithelialising properties of a carnosine and hyaluronic acid tulle on traumatic skin lesions.

Methodology:

Three clinical cases are presented in which Tulgrasum® dressing was applied to wounds every 48 or 96 hours. The treatment applied was as follows: wound cleansing with 0,9% physiological sodium chloride solution, debridement of devitalised tissue and application of the tulle.

Results:

There was an acceleration in the formation of granulation tissue and in the healing process in both traumatic injuries. A decrease in the level of pain and inflammation was also obtained.

Conclusions:

The responsible healing mechanisms are attributed to the moisturising, immune, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of the hyaluronic acid and carnosine tulle. A greater spacing between Tulgrasum® dressing changes than considered in the literature is recommended.
