Abstract

LORENTE-RODRIGUEZ, Miguel et al. Use of a carnosine and hyaluronic acid tulle dressing in burns. Gerokomos [online]. 2024, vol.35, n.4, pp.280-283.  Epub Mar 19, 2025. ISSN 1134-928X.  https://dx.doi.org/10.4321/s1134-928x2024000400012.

Objectives:

To evaluate the efficacy of T which hyaluronic acid and carnosine tulle as a healing agent in first and second degree burns.

Methodology:

A total of 4 clinical cases are presented, in which hyaluronic acid and carnosine tulle was applied to the burns. Wound cleaning, debridement of non-viable tissues and application of the tulle were carried out in this order.

Results:

Carnosine and hyaluronic acid tulle showed efficacy in accelerating the formation of granulation tissue in burns. A reduction in the level of pain and inflammation of the wounds was also achieved.

Conclusions:

The antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and moist wound environment promoting action of the dressing could be the responsible mechanisms for the acceleration of tissue regeneration. The possibility of increasing the spacing between dressing changes is raised.

Keywords : Burns; carnosine; hyaluronic acid; wound healing.
