The quality of life related to health is a multidimensional concept that identifies the dimensions of health affected by chronic kidney disease and could be a useful tool to assess the impact of peritoneal dialysis. The utility of the SF-366v2 questionnaire in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis is evaluated, and how demographic variables and the type of peritoneal dialysis affect the health perceived by these patients. Transversal descriptive, multicentre study, with a sample of 89 patients on peritoneal dialysis. The average age was 60.31 years. In order to evaluate the perceived health, we used SF-36v2 and compared scores according to gender, age and type of treatment. Women reflected lower scores: the 25-34 year-old age group had higher scores than older patients, although the scores of the latter were closer to the general population. No significant differences were found between types of treatment, even when the factors with the greatest influence on quality of life related to health were disregarded.
