Meta-analysis are studies aimed to synthesize all the available information about a specific topic to get a summary measure of outcome. When there are more than two possible comparisons, traditional meta-analysis does not allow stablishing all the possible comparisons if there are not studies with the specific paired comparisons. For these circumstances, network meta-analysis have been designed which can performed multiple direct and indirect comparisons from a network of studies that examines the effects of various treatments more fully.
