Abstract

ESCANERO MARCEN, Jesús F.. Curricular Integration. Educ. méd. [online]. 2007, vol.10, n.4, pp.23-30. ISSN 1575-1813.

One of the goals of the Bologna Process to adapt to the European Higher Education Area is to implement outcome-based curricula. In this context, the convenience to adopt integrated curricula models is Ander discussion. This paper presents an historical revision of the curricular integration experiences carried out at the international and Spanish levels. In this last case, two key documents, in favour of the curricular integration, the Granada Declaration and the Libro Blanco de la Conferencia Nacional de Decanos de Medicina are analyzed. The reasons for curricular integration and the different steps to follow in a curricular integration process according to Harden are described.

Keywords : outcome-based curriculum; curriculum integration.
