In June 1912, at the Rubio Institute in Madrid, within which was located the Nursing School of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, both institutions founded by Federico Rubio y Galí (1827-1902), a very important crisis took shape due to the proposal of some members of the Board and some "lady curators" who proposed replacing the resident nurses with the Daughters of Charity, a proposal that was opposed by the daughter of the founder, Sol Rubio y Chacón, who, besides published a book in 1916 titled El Instituto Rubio y los Estatutos de su fundador. Defensa documentada, in which she denounces, among other issues, the non-compliance with the Statutes of 1896, in addition to considering illegal the reform of the given statutes carried out in 1910.
