The Damas Auxiliares de Sanidad Militar (Auxiliary Ladies of Military Healthcare Corps) played a fundamental role in healthcare in Spain during the 20th century. Created to strengthen medical assistance in times of conflict, it enabled women to enter a field that had previously been reserved for men. To analyze the role and historical-social context of the Damas Auxiliares de Sanidad Militar, the biographical method was used to collect the testimony of Mercedes Moll de Miguel. An in-depth interview was conducted, recorded, transcribed, and validated by the informant herself. Through thematic analysis, key aspects of her career were identified, including her training, professional experience, and contributions to social change. Mercedes Moll de Miguel's account highlights the importance of the Damas Auxiliares de Sanidad Militar in the professionalization of care and the creation of new opportunities for women. Her testimony demonstrates how the discipline, commitment, and training acquired in military healthcare were crucial to her later involvement in politics and the promotion of women's rights, making her a figure of change and leadership in 20th-century Spain.
