The Ifni Sahara War (1957-1958) was eminently a land conflict however, Spanish Navy had an important logistical role. Navy medical officers provided medical support to both the ships’ crews and the Marine Corps detachment on El Aaiún beach, in a satisfactory way in the authors’ point of view. Peninsular naval hospitals such as San Carlos (Cádiz) or the tuberculosis sanatorium in Madrid were some of the health centers in the rearguard.
