Objective: To determine the rate of breastfeeding at 4 months of baby's life and the main causes of abandonment of the breastfeeding. Methods: transversal descriptive observational study. Information on sociodemographic variables related to breastfeeding, etc. is obtained. Is collected through a self-administered questionnarie to mothers of babies 4 months . Absolute and relative frequencies are determined. Main results: The rate of exclusive breastfeeding at 4 months of age the baby was 51.02%. The main reason for discontinuation of breastfeeding was hypogalactia. Conclusions: The rate of exclusive breastfeeding at 4 months of baby's life is low.
